Artist Statement
When I was building this project, I had trouble making it work. The car I was using didn’t want to stay in a straight line, and it kept flying off the table. I had to get creative and use twine around the back wings, and tie it to a white pole. I then used two wooden stakes (with clamps) to guide the car towards the egg placement area, or as I called it, the Danger Zone.
Filling the easter eggs with paint, glue, and glitter was a lot of fun. I used ochre, yellow, white, brown, and vermillion paint, and green, blue, pink and beige glitter. Some of the eggs needed multiple tries to break, but that just added to the fun of it all. The best part was watching the eggs break and cover the paper with pretty colors. |
